Marija Vuković's apology: I had no intention of demeaning the coat of arms and the flag of Montenegro, because that way I would also demean myself

Montenegrin athlete Marija Vuković apologized for the statement in which she called the coat of arms on the flag of Montenegro a chicken.

At the moment when the series "I play my game", which is published on RTCG, she was asked to draw the mascot of the Olympic Games in Paris, she said about the coat of arms on the flag of Montenegro: "Chicken, this chicken of ours from the flag".

"Dear friends, I deeply apologize for my thoughtless statement during the filming of the series I play my game. It was not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings, nor to humiliate the coat of arms of the country to which I proudly belong. I hope you will forgive this thoughtless moment, for which I deeply regret .

You can judge me for my rashness and what I said. You have every right to that. And I admit that as an athlete I have a greater responsibility towards the spoken word. But be sure of one thing - I would never even think, let alone deliberately demean the coat of arms and flag of my country. And Montenegro is my country. By humiliating her, I would also be humiliating myself.

I will continue to jump for Montenegro with all my heart, the way I always did!
