The Mayor of Prijestonica Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković, returned to the Commission for the awarding of annual awards in the field of sports for reconsideration the Decision by which Marija Vuković, together with Filip Krivokapić, was proposed as the best athlete of the Prijestonia in 24 on January 2023.

The announcement states that the request for re-decision followed "her inappropriate statement about the state symbol of Montenegro".

"Taking into account that the athlete of the year is a representative of the city, who with his work and behavior should be an example to our fellow citizens, especially the youngest, in addition to sports results and achievements, he must respect the city, state, our flag, coat of arms and anthem and in public be an example of such a relationship Proceeding from the above, we are witnesses that one of the winners of the aforementioned award selected by the Decision of the competent Commission in the past few days through the means of public information presented a grossly negative wording in relation to the symbols of our country, and therefore I return the Decision on the selection of the best athlete of the year to the Commission for reconsideration. it is stated in the explanation of Đurašković.

From the Capital of Cetinje, you said that the Decision on recognition for the best athlete of the Capital of Cetinje for 2023 was made on January 24 of this year and published in the manner defined by the rules.

"The commission for the awarding of annual awards in the field of sports will meet again and make a new decision," the announcement concludes.

Athlete Marija Vuković was asked to draw the mascot of the Olympic Games in Paris in the series "I play my game", which is published on RTCG and is supported by COK and the Secretariat for Culture and Sports of the Capital City.
