On February 17, the world will receive an absolute boxing champion at the "Kingdom Arena" in Riyadh. The owner of the most prestigious WBC heavyweight belt, the British Tyson Fury, will box against the Ukrainian Alexander Usyk, the owner of the three remaining prestigious belts - IBF, WBA and WBO.
The last one who was undoubtedly the best boxer in the world was the British Lennox Lewis, with his victory over the American Ivander Holyfield in 1999.
So, Usik and Fury will have the biggest boxing match in a quarter of a century and that after long negotiations. Usik fought for the last time in August, when he defeated Danijel Dubow by technical knockout.
Fury defeated MMA fighter Francis Ngannou via unanimous decision in October. Then the Briton fell in the third round, but managed to get up and get back into the match. However, due to the knockdown, he was given space to postpone the meeting with the Ukrainian and improve his form.
And the "Kingdom Arena" in Saudi Arabia is becoming a bosque center, which for decades was considered "Madison Square Garden" in New York or "MGM Arena" in Las Vegas.
In the "Kingdom Arena" Fury boxed with Ngannou, in the same spectacle Dmitry Bivol, Anthony Joshua and Dontay Weiler boxed.
But on February 17, there will be an even bigger spectacle, or rather the biggest in 25 years, and before the main fight for the absolute champion, which should start at 20 p.m. our time, there will be at least two more spectacular colors.
Sergej Kovalev will box against Robin Safar and the undefeated Uzbek, Bahodir Jalolov, who won all 14 previous matches, will also be in the ring.
