The boxing match that was awaited for 25 years - has been cancelled.
The duel for the absolute heavyweight champion of the world will not take place on February 17, because Tyson Fury, the WBC champion, injured an arcade and an eye during training, so he cannot enter the ring with Oleksandr Usyk, the owner of three championship belts.
Fury received a deep cut from a sparring blow, which had to be stitched up, and he has no time to recover.
An unusual situation, which caused controversy and suspicions that Fury is not ready for the fight of the century - which for the first time since 1999 was supposed to decide who is the undisputed best heavyweight in the world. 25 years ago that title was held by Lennox Lewis.
"It is absolutely meaningless to talk about any withdrawal from the fight. To say that Tyson Fury was intentionally injured like this to avoid a duel is truly incredible nonsense. These kinds of injuries happen often, but this one happened two weeks before a historic match, one of the greatest of all time. And that's why this news resonated so much. We'll see what happens next, maybe June-July, but it's too early for that story," said promoter Eddie Hearn.
