New season, different format - this time, apart from the summer, tekball will also be played during the winter.
The new edition of the Montenegrin Taekbol League starts on Saturday with the "winter league", during which three tournaments will be held in indoor conditions, and the first stop is Podgorica and the Sports and Cultural Center of the University of Montenegro.
Summer remains reserved for outdoor tournaments.
In total, during 2024, eight tournaments will be held across the country, and when it comes to closed competitions, apart from Podgorica, they will be held in Herceg Novi (March 30) and Bijelo Polje (April 27).
"The big advantage of tekball is that it is adaptable to different conditions - in the summer we mostly organize outdoor tournaments, due to the attractiveness of the locations and the very promotion of their tourist and recreation potential, but this year we came up with the idea to expand the league to the winter part as well, i.e. to started a few months earlier, due to the growing interest of people in Montenegro," explained Milorad Šutulović. President of the Taekbol Association of Montenegro.
It is recalled that some of the biggest competitions are organized in closed conditions.
"The tournament itself of the European Taekball Tour in our capital was held in the hall, and we have experience with the organization in this sense. We expect great interest and applications from new teams, but also the participation of our already experienced competitors, who have been in the Taekball story since its launch in Montenegro. Gori. We believe that the new season will be interesting, especially since the last one showed that a large number of players improved significantly and brought uncertainty to the competition itself," added Šutulović and invited everyone who likes football to sign up and try it out.
The Taekbol Association adds that three categories will be represented at the opening three tournaments of the new season.
"In addition to the most attractive, men's doubles, applications are open for the men's single category and for mixed pairs. All interested competitors can apply through the official Instagram page of the Tekball Association of Montenegro - teqball.mne", stated TSCG.
As in previous seasons, as they pointed out, the best Montenegrin competitors will have the opportunity to win a place in major regional and international competitions, such as the Adriatic Taekball League, European Taekball Tour tournaments and World Taekball Federation competitions through tournaments in the domestic championship.
