Montenegrin representative Miloš Roganović qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2nd World Boxing Cup under 18 years "Adriatic Pearl", after defeating Raja Aditya from India in the category up to 67 kilograms at Hotel Splendid.
Boxer BK Nikšić will box with Mansur Muslijev tomorrow for the semi-finals and medal.
"I lost the first round, it took time to adapt because I've never boxed with counters before. I adapted to the style and fight against lefties and deservedly got better in the two final rounds. I'm expecting a fight with the Russian for the semi-finals and I think I can reach victories. We sparred during the April camp in Budva and I know very well what to expect," said the young man from Nikšić.
The second "Adriatic Pearl - Jadranski biser" is the strongest competition after the World Championship in the age group up to 18 years, 270 fighters from 22 countries compete.
"It is incomparably stronger than the European Championship, because here are the selections of Cuba, Kazakhstan, Mexico... The competition is superb, and the conditions at the tournament are fantastic," said Boško Drašković, representative and coach of BK Nikšić.
His boxer deservedly won, already at the end of the first round he felt that the boxer from India had no answer to the fast left direct. The dominance of the young Roganović was seen in the third round.
Another Montenegrin boxer, Filip Klepo in the category up to 80 kg, was defeated yesterday by Ramazan Madamtkanov from Russia, but he was satisfied with the fight.
"The number of matches and the incomparable experience of the Russian boxer was decided. However, the coaches and I are satisfied with the boxing and the resistance I showed," said the boxer from Podgorica BK "Power Boxing".
The tournament in Splendid ends with the finals on March 10.
