The female part of the Montenegrin karate team will end the European Championship in Zadar without a medal.
And it could have been different. After two great victories, Anja Jović lost to enter the semi-finals - unfairly 2:1 against the Ukrainian Julia Palaševska.
At the start of the category up to 50 kilograms, Jovićeva dominated the Slovenian Lara Dakovic 7:0, and then the Bulgarian Cvetanova 6:5 in a match in which our team spent its challenges.
"It's a shame, really! Four clean points, obvious in the last attack, were not awarded to Anja for a safe semi-final. But I am far from dissatisfied. It was a great day", said the fight selector Almir Cecunjanin.
Thus, after the second day of the competition, our selection will have three fights for medals.
Nenad Dulović will fight for the gold in the welterweight on Saturday, Nemanja Mikulić will fight for the bronze in the middle category on the same day, while the kata team consisting of Vladimir Mijač, Kenan Nikočević, Arijan Kočan and Nikola Minič will have a match for the bronze with Azerbaijan on Sunday.
Tonight, the team fights started, and our team convincingly won against Latvia, and on Friday it continues with a duel with Croatia.
