The women's volleyball team of Montenegro will play the first game of the CEV Silver League tomorrow (18) in the "Verde" hall against the Faroe Islands.
The first tournament is played until May 19, apart from Montenegro and the Faroe Islands, Georgia also participates, against whom our national team will play on Sunday (18).
Milorad Krunić's team is a well-known opponent of the Faroe Islands, against whom our team celebrated twice with the maximum result last year. Selector Krunić hopes that it will be the same in Podgorica.
"As for our form, I am satisfied with how the preparations went. The only small thing is that we have an uncertain performance of a volleyball player, and we will know more about that after the medical examinations. We don't have much information about the Faroe Islands - only three girls from last year are in their current team. "Based on the matches from the previous year, we assume the role of favorites and we will do our best to justify it," said coach Krunić.
Proofreader Danijela Džaković hopes for a positive outcome in both matches.
"Expectations are high - I think we are favorites, considering the result from last year when we showed that we are a better national team. We saw some new names at the Faroe Islands, and Georgia is coming with a stronger team. I am sure that all the girls will fight and that we will give our best. I am sure that the audience will enjoy these matches," said Džaković.
After the first tournament, on May 24, the senior women will travel to Portugal, where they will have matches against the hosts and Iceland on May 25 and 26.
The third tournament was originally planned from May 31 to June 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, however, after the host team canceled its participation in the CEV Silver League, all matches with it will be counted as an official result in favor of the opponent.
On the fourth weekend, our volleyball players will be free, as well as Portugal, Hungary, Latvia, Georgia, Iceland and Luxembourg.
The two best teams after four tournaments will play the two-match final on June 13 and 16, respectively.
