The women's volleyball team of Montenegro plays the first of two matches against Iceland tonight (22) in the second tournament of the CEV Silver League, which is held in Portugal.
Our team will play the second match tomorrow (22nd) against the host of the tournament, which defeated Iceland 3:0 last night. Montenegro arrived in Portugal with maximum performance, after defeating the Faroe Islands (3:0) and Georgia (3:1) at the tournament in Podgorica.
"We are ready for that, for us, decisive tournament considering that we are not playing in the third tournament. We hope for a favorable outcome against Iceland and Portugal. We are going step by step. First, let's solve Iceland and be maximally concentrated, and then the attack will follow to Portugal", emphasizes coach Milorad Krunić.
After the tournament in Portugal, Montenegro returns to Podgorica. The third tournament was originally planned to be played in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the domestic selection canceled participation, so all matches with Bosnia and Herzegovina will be registered with an official result (3:0) in favor of the opponent.
On the fourth weekend, according to the schedule, our volleyball players are free, as well as the national teams of Portugal, Hungary, Latvia, Georgia, Iceland and Luxembourg.
"We have the highest possible expectations. We hope for victories in both games. First we focus on Iceland and then on Portugal. We will try to do better some things that didn't go our way in the first tournament and, of course, achieve both victories", Mina Dragović points out.
The two best teams after four tournaments will advance to the finals, which will be played on June 13 and 16.
