From June 7 to 12, Rome will host the senior European championship, where three Montenegrin athletes will also perform, the Athletics Federation announced.
Montenegro will be represented by Danijel Furtula in the discus throw, Marija Vuković in the high jump and Darko Pešić in the decathlon.
Montenegrin athletes were placed on the basis of qualification quotas and results they had in the previous period, as well as the rankings made by the European Athletics Federation.
Furtula in the discus throw and Marija Vuković in the high jump have qualifications on June 7, the final in the discus throw is on the same day, and in the high jump two days later.
The decathlon competition is scheduled for June 10 and 11.
Her Greek coach Dimitrios Vasilikos will be with Marija Vuković at the championship.
Pešić will be accompanied in the decathlon by a team consisting of coach Goran Obradović and physiotherapist Melik Feller.
"At the European Championships, as a special guest of the president of the European Athletics Federation, Dobromir Karamarinova, the president of the Athletics Federation, Milorad Vuletić, will be present," the association announced.
