The new season of the Adriatic Teqball League will start on June 8 with a tournament in Ohrid, it was announced by the Teqball Association of Montenegro, one of the initiators of the regional competition.
It is stated that in the first of the five tournaments planned for this season, they will play in two categories, men's singles and men's doubles, and the estimated prize fund is 2.000 euros.
The competition will be played in two phases - the first phase is planned in the Biljanini izvori hall, and the second phase will be at the City Quay of Macedonia.
At the tournament, in addition to the representatives of the five countries of the region - North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, special invitations are planned for players from European countries.
Special guests in Ohrid will be representatives of Greece.
Montenegrin Teqball will be represented by the best TEQ pairs - Kurjaci, Teqers and Borac, as well as the talented Veljko Ljumović.
The president of the Taekbol Association, Milorad Šutulović, said that he was looking forward to the fact that, first of all, Montenegrin players will have the opportunity to once again measure their strength with rivals outside the country's borders and progress.
"We believe that such projects can contribute to the significant popularization of Teqball in all countries, which, thanks to the extraordinary talents they have, could position themselves among the best in Europe," Šutulović said.
After Ohrid, the Adriatic League will visit Bar on July 20, and tournaments will also be played in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia.
On June 7, the day before the tournament, Ohrid will also host a regional seminar for referees, whose participants will have the opportunity to acquire the title of assistant referee.
