The Olympic Games in Paris are getting closer, and Montenegro remained at two A standards - boxer Bojana Gojković lost unanimously in the quarter-finals of the qualification in Bangkok in a match for a direct placement against the two-time world champion from Taipei, Wang Hsien Wen.
It was an equal fight, in which the experienced and trophy boxer from Taipei was better only in the opening half minutes. Nevertheless, she won the first and, surprisingly, the second round by all five judges, even though in that part of the fight, the 20-year-old woman from Budva found a way to persistently hit the eight-centimeter-higher 28-year-old Ven with a straight right and a hook.
"Shame! How can you come to your senses after such a criterion", stressed Ružić, who in Thailand was most afraid of the traditionally biggest pain in boxing - the trial.
Then the match went in a completely different direction, Ven avoided the fight, and Bojana tried to get a knockout, which in bantam (up to 54 kilograms), especially against such a great rival, is difficult and to be expected.
And the referee in the ring did not allow close contact, he interrupted the rhythm of the fight. After all, none of the six referees in Bojana's match was from Europe.
However, the fact that the silver medalist from the European Championship, Gojković, left a great impression, there is a possibility for an invitation (wild card) to box in the City of Light at the biggest show.
