Islam Makhachev defended the UFC lightweight title after defeating Dustin Poirje by "choking" in the fifth round at UFC 302.
In the corner of the octagon in New Jersey was Khabib Nurmagomedov, and his student Makhachev equaled the record of three lightweight title defenses.
Poarje missed the third chance to become champion, even though he fought brilliantly and Makhachev celebrated covered in blood from the rival's devastating blow with which he "cut" his forehead.
"I think that's enough, in vain. I'm retiring," said Porje, who lost all three colors for the championship title on the first floor.
Donald Trump, the presidential candidate and former first man of the United States, also enjoyed the fight.
"Dustin did a good job defending my punches. He is a legend of the sport, thank you Dustin. My dream is to fight for the second belt, I want to feel this energy again and I will probably go to a higher weight category," said Mahačev.
