The Boxing Association of Montenegro (BSCG) has announced that no private or state-owned socially responsible company has paid them Euros of aid in recent years.
It is said that, for unknown reasons, this makes them the only sports association without any domestic sponsorship support.
BSCG denied that the Electric Power Industry of Montenegro (EPCG) awarded them 2022 euros in 2023 and 25.
"That is not true. BSCG, as one of the officially most successful national associations in the last few years, has officially addressed EPCG several times with concrete proposals for cooperation, but at no time did it come to fruition. So EPCG, like no other private or state In recent years, the company has not paid a single euro of aid to BSCG," the announcement reads.
It was announced that the only support for BSCG came from the regular funding of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, the Municipality of Budva, as well as from the personal funds of the president of the association, Aleksandar Klemenko, and his international partners.
BIRN Montenegro announced yesterday that EPCG spent at least 2,8 million euros on donations and sponsorships to individuals, organizations and state institutions in the last five years.
In that text, it is stated that the new management of EPCG continued the practice of sponsoring sports clubs, and that during 2022 and 2023, they allocated 25.000 euros to the Boxing Association of Montenegro.
