The women's senior volleyball team of Montenegro will have their last test before the start of the European Championship qualifiers in friendly matches against Austria, the Volleyball Federation announced.
The matches will be played on Sunday and Monday in Bijelo Polje.
Those duels will be a key opportunity to see what kind of shape coach Milorad Krunić's players are in before the start of the qualifiers.
Service receiver Simona Petranović said that the Montenegrin volleyball players are ready to show everything they have been working on during the past four weeks of preparation.
"The Austrian team is already familiar to us, we played against them in the Silver League last year. We hope that we will do our best and show what we have been training for all these Sundays and that in the end it will turn out as it should. After those games for we are traveling to Latvia for a couple of days, where we need a victory and we will do our best to achieve that," Petranović said.
The Montenegrin team had its first test against the Kosovo national team, where it achieved a half-hearted performance in two duels.
Danijela Džaković and Nevena Vukčević did not play in those matches, but the team will be complete for the meetings with the Austrian team.
"We know that Austria will be a useful opponent for us to prepare for the start of the qualifiers. Next up is our trip to Latvia, where our first opponent awaits us, which is our main goal and for which we have been preparing, and I hope that we will meet all expectations and that we will to show our best game", said Tvrdišić.
The first match of qualification for EuroVolley 2026. Montenegro will play against Latvia, away, on August 17.
