Groves winner of the second stage of the Vuelta, Van Aert took first place in the general classification

Australian cyclist Kayden Groves won today in the second, hilly, stage of the Spanish Vuelta race and took the "green shirt" as the best sprinter.

Grouvs, who drives for "Alpecin-Deceuninck", the stage from Kaskais to Ourem (in Portugal), 194 kilometers long, finished in five hours, 12 minutes and 55 seconds.

At the end of the race, the Australian was faster than Belgian Vut Van Aert (Visma-Lease) and New Zealander Corbin John Strong (Israel-Premier Tech).

The first place in the general standings and the "red shirt" was taken by Van Aert, who with 5 hours, 25 minutes and 27 seconds is three seconds faster than the American Brandon McNulty (UAE) and five seconds faster than the Czech Matijas Vacek (Lidl-Trek).

The third stage, also hilly, is run on Monday from 13 p.m., on a 191,2 kilometer stretch from Lousa to Castelo Branco, also in Portugal.
