One month and two days later, Paris is ready for another spectacle - after the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games will be officially opened in the city on the Seine.
The ceremony starts at 20:XNUMX p.m., and will also be held outside the stadium - on Concorde Square and on Champs-Élysées Avenue.
The Montenegrin flag will fly in the City of Light, and among the 4.400 athletes and 182 delegations there will be a quartet that our country will cheer for. Montenegrin sport in Paris will be represented by a silver table tennis player from Tokyo Filip Radovic, his colleague Luka Bakić (category S10), as well as an athlete Maja Rajković and archer Milan Djinovic.
Maja Rajković and Luka Bakić will carry the flag of our country at the opening.
A Swede will be in charge of the choreography during the opening Alexander Ekmana, while the art director Tom Joly as well as for OI. It is known that 150 dancers will perform, including 20 with disabilities, and that a Chinese actor will also carry the torch. Jackie Chan, as well as that the ceremony will be called "Paradox".
- Setting the city as the setting for this ceremony is already a paradox because the city is not fully adapted to people with disabilities - explained Joli.
Transport problems
Our representatives were placed in the Paralympic village, and they arrived to do the first training sessions even though they had problems with transportation.
- Specialized equipment, Maja Rajković's spear and chair and Miloša Đinović's rifle arrived on time, so our shooter was already at the shooting range today. Conditions in the village are decent and for now the system is functioning as it should. Preparations for the official opening are already underway, so that we will be ready for the official ceremony tomorrow - said the head of the Montenegrin mission from Paris. Miloš Ranitović.
The first of our athletes will be Bakić and Đinović, whose table tennis matches will begin on September 1.
Passed anti-doping tests
The Anti-Doping Commission of Montenegro announced that our athletes participating in the Paralympic Games in Paris have successfully passed anti-doping tests.
The Commission explained that before leaving for the Paralympic Games, following the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee and the International Testing Agency (ITA) for national anti-doping organizations, they successfully implemented planned activities related to the education and testing of athletes.
Director of the Anti-Doping Commission Olivera Prodanović she pointed out that Montenegrin Paralympic athletes are a source of great pride for Montenegro.
- Not only because of his exceptional sports achievements, but also because of his dedication to the highest standards of integrity in sports.
After the heroes of the Olympic Games, Paris welcomed true sports heroes.
