The city of light was illuminated by another Montenegrin medal for history - just like three years ago in Tokyo and this summer in Paris, one of the most beautiful pages of our sport wrote Filip Radovic.
The table tennis player from Cetinje brought his country two bronze medals from the Paralympic Games, from the point of view of Montenegro, they are just as valuable as if they were a little more brilliant.
"I am proud of myself that after Tokyo I managed to win the bronze medal again," said Radović from Paris.
He also dreamed of the final, he wanted to make Montenegro happy once again, but this time Lian Hao was better...
"I'm really sorry that I didn't win the final and at least confirm the second place in the World ranking list, because I honestly think that during the past two years I have shown that I deserve that place," added the great guy from Cetinje.
In the fight for the finals on the other side of the net, he had a rival that he often won lately, but as he himself said earlier, the day for the rematch simply happened.
"After three consecutive triumphs in mutual duels, there had to be a defeat - this time it was like that," pointed out Radović.
Filip has shown many times that he is great even in defeat - it is the same now.
"The Chinese competitor was simply better and deservedly won - I congratulate him on that," underlined Radović.
Vladimir Marić, coach of our table tennis team, emphasized that Filip achieved what he came to Paris for.
"He fulfilled the basic goal and won the bronze medal, although we all wanted and expected him to go one step higher, to play the desired final with the Polish Patrik Čojnovski. Unfortunately, the Chinese was better and deservedly won," says Marić.
When the biggest competitions are on the way, the bronze from Paris is the seventh medal for Radović in total - in addition to two medals from the Paralympic Games, he also won four individual (two silver and two bronze) and one team European medal (bronze).
Montenegro was represented in this sport at the Paralympic Games Luka Bakić.
"Just like Filip and Luka, he came to Paris prepared, we did good preparations. Unfortunately, he was unlucky in the draw and got the toughest possible opponent in the round of 16 - the Japanese Mahiro Funayama. He did not play at his level and unfortunately he already finished in the round of 16 competition", emphasized Marić.
