The best young kickboxer in Montenegro, 17-year-old Viktor Dukić, is also the best in the world in the under-19 age group. Fighter KBK Rad from Podgorica, for the second season in a row, only knows about victories and gold medals from all competitions.
In his honor and that of Rad's coach, Veselin Piletić, MSc, a formal reception was organized by the President of the Capital City Assembly, Jelena Borovinić Bojović.
The world gold in Budapest was the last, the sixth for Dukić in the heavyweight low-kick since the start of the season, but also the most significant, because it was won in the strongest competition.
Borovinić Bojović expressed her satisfaction that she had the opportunity to personally congratulate the young athlete on the extraordinary success he achieved.
- Such a great sporting success is significant not only for Viktor as an individual, but also for his city and country. Young athletes are our pride and deserve to receive all the support that society can give them. Six gold medals won in eight months is truly an extraordinary and exceptional success. Judging by this, there is no doubt that Viktor will continue to achieve great sports results in the coming years - said the President of the Assembly.
Viktor's coach, Piletić, pointed out that no one before him had won such a large number of gold medals in one year in kick-boxing and that it is difficult to expect such a result to be repeated soon. Piletić stated that engaging in this dangerous martial sport requires great sacrifices and that he hopes that Viktor will receive the support he deserves in the future as a young all-round athlete, who, despite hard training, does not neglect his other obligations, primarily school.
