The second day of the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest brought good play by the Montenegrin selections, whose impression was not spoiled even by the defeat of our ladies against the Georgian national team.
The men's team justified the role of favorites. Algeria was defeated 3:1, and the match itself was on the verge of equality for a long time.
First, the duel on the first board between Denis Kadrić and Adlan Arba ended, who agreed on a draw after a fair game on both sides in the far end.
Montenegro was put in the lead by Luka Drašković, who took advantage of the opening move in the duel with Halil Bengherabi with precise play, while the victory was ensured by Nikola Đukić, who defeated Lamin Brahami with the black pieces.
The current champion of Montenegro, Nikita Petrov, did not score more than a draw against Masinas Đabri.
The ladies were defeated by the third seed, the national team of Georgia - 3:1.
Worthy resistance to favored opponents was completed by the victory of Nikolina Koljević against Melia Salome on the fourth board.

Aleksandra Žerebcova and Alena Skvorcova provided good resistance to their favored opponents in duels on the first and second tables.
The third round is scheduled for Friday, and our men's national team will face a big challenge, a duel with one of the teams from the very top of world chess, while the ladies will look for a chance to return to the winning track in a duel in which they will play the role of favorites.
