"I really want to thank Mr. Todorović for the Lifetime Achievement Award. It is an honor to be in the company of such sporting greats, our celebrated Olympians... The award is a sign that all that enormous effort, work and sacrifices pay off in the end. Karate is the sport that has changed my life, I love karate, and I know that the award has come into the right hands. I am proud of it, and grateful to the organizers of the festival that they recognized it. The celebrated Montenegrin karate woman certainly deserves it , Marina Kovijanić.
In addition to the world senior medal, she also won a handful of the biggest competitions of the Old Continent, and in the history of Montenegrin sports, Marina wrote her name by winning the first medal at the European Olympic Games in Baku.
It was the only medal of our Olympic team at the 1st European Games.
