Jusuf Saljiu won the cadet silver, his older colleague from Omladinc, Jovana Damjanović, the junior bronze at the World Championship for cadets, juniors and younger seniors in karate, in Venice.
Damjanović defeated Ukrainian Daria Bulaj 66:4 in the match for third place in the category over 2 kilograms. It is her fourth major medal, after she won gold at the European Cadet, Junior and Junior Senior Championships in Tbilisi in February.
Junior Omladinca also has cadet bronzes from last year's European Championship in Larnaca and the World Championship in Konya in 2022.
In Venice, Damjanović eliminated Kaja Topić from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) 4:0, Mexican Miranda Reyes Mata 8:0 and Đurđa Joksimović from Serbia 1:0, and in the semifinals she was defeated by Sara Tomić from Croatia 4:0.
