From October 20 to 23, Ulcinj will host the Friendship World Cup, a sports event that will bring together hundreds of soccer players, athletes and sports workers from the former SFR Yugoslavia.
It will be the third gathering of sports legends of the former state, and according to the announcements of the organizers, the most numerous so far.
Guests of the southernmost Montenegrin municipality will be numerous athletes who wore the jersey and won medals at the most important international competitions under the banner of the former state.
The main initiator of the event is Pavle Pepđonović, a businessman from Ulcinj, former basketball player and sports worker.
He announced that the event will be held under the motto We only need love.
The event was supported by businessmen, hoteliers, restaurateurs, local government, the Tourist Organization and community, private and public companies and almost all citizens of Ulcinj.
"We want to send a strong message from Ulcinj and Montenegro to the region, Europe and the whole world, a message of friendship, love and peace because for those three days Ulcinj will be the capital of world sports", said Pepđonović.
In addition to football legends from the former Yugoslavia, the arrival of famous water polo players, basketball players, volleyball players, wrestlers, rowers, chess players, coaches, football and water polo referees, sports journalists and workers, paralympians has been confirmed.
The organizer announced that Slavoljub Muslin, Vladimir Petrović Pižon, Zoran Samardžija, Mirsad Baljić, Fuad Muzurović, Enver Marić, Sead Kajtaz should appear at the World Cup for the first time.
It was announced that Faruk Hadžibegić, Mehmet Baždarević, Ivan Gudelj, Ivica Šurjak, Nikica Cukrov, Dejan Savićević, Dževad Prekazi, Husref Musemić, Milan Radović, Dževad Šećerbegović, Fuad Mulahasanović, Mustafa Mujezinović, Predrag Pašić, Rajko Janjanin will also attend the event. Zoran Filipović, Zlatko Krmpotić, Jovica Nikolić.

A special emphasis at this year's Mundial is dedicated to Paralympics, and as an overture on Sunday, a film about Croatian blind Paralympian Petar Bešlić - Brave and on the Score will be shown.
The organizer called that day the Day of Sports, Paralympics and Youth Games.
A panel discussion on problems in Paralympism is planned, and the guests will be the presidents of the Paralympic Committees of Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
The event will be officially opened on Monday, at noon, on the Little Beach, and the official ceremony will include the presentation and speeches of the guests.
At 18 p.m., the promotion of the documentary film It Happened - Ratko Rudić is planned.
On Tuesday, a tour of the Museum and the fortress, the planting of the Balkan Tree of Peace and the promotion of a documentary film by the famous Bosnian sports journalist and producer Muhamed Bikić on the Olympics in Sarajevo are planned.
For all three days, the organizer has planned joint dinners, gatherings and tours of Ulcinj's tourist potential.
