Montenegrin boxer Filip Klepo made it to the quarterfinals and came close to a medal at the World Youth Championship in Budva.
A member of BK Power Boxing today in the round of 75, in the 80 to XNUMX kilogram category, defeated Seychelles representative Kenny Jean Charles by stoppage in the second round.
The last obstacle for the Montenegrin boxer on the way to the semi-finals will be the Armenian Armen Poghosyan, who eliminated Jose Ortiz from Chile in the round of 16 on Monday.
Klepo said that he was extremely satisfied with the victory and placement at the WC.
"I was more dominant and more prepared, but there is always room for improvement. The important thing is that I successfully broke through the ice. Honestly, I had nervousness in front of my audience, in my country, because precisely because of that load it is more difficult than in another ring. What as for my next rival, I'm hoping for the best. I'll do my best to stay in the medal game," Klepo said.
The second Montenegrin representative at the World Championship, Miloš Roganović, ended his performance in Budva in the round of 16, without a fight.
Nikšić member Torekhan Sabirkhan was unable to enter the ring due to health problems, so the Kazakh advanced to the quarterfinals of the 63,5 to 67 kilogram category without a fight.
"After the victory in the elimination match over the representative of Serbia, Hristofer Dimitr, by a unanimous decision of the judges, Miloš felt bad, due to a problem with purulent angina. The doctors tried to make him fit with therapy in the previous two days, but they did not succeed. They agreed that Miloš is not fit for fight and unfortunately he had to end the competition at that stage," said national team coach Boško Drašković.
