Qualifying for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Sao Paolo was postponed tonight due to heavy rain and moved to Sunday.
The start of the qualifiers was scheduled for 19:XNUMX at the Interlagos track in Sao Paulo, but due to heavy rain and water on the track, the organizers repeatedly postponed the start and finally decided to run the qualifiers on Sunday.
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced that it will announce the new qualification date as soon as possible.
"Qualifying for the race in Sao Paolo has been postponed. The decision was made due to reduced visibility caused by a large amount of rain in the previous few hours. There is a lot of standing water on the track and the conditions are not safe. As much as we would all like to see the competition on the track, the safety of the drivers, team members, volunteers, officials and spectators is our priority," the FIA statement said.
The Sao Paolo Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday at 18 p.m.
