The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) officially presented today the new selectors - Jov Caković, who took over the women's selection and Ivica Jevtić, who took over the men's selection.

Caković signed a four-year contract with OSCG, and Jevtić a three-year contract with the option to continue the cooperation after that.

Jovo Caković succeeded Milorad Krunić on the bench of our national team. In the previous season, he won the triple crown with Jedinstva from Stara Pazova, and he also had success with the younger selections of Serbia.

Caković said that the talent of young Montenegrins was a special motivation for his arrival and emphasized that his doors are open to everyone who can contribute to women's volleyball in Montenegro, or who wants to progress.

"This is a special day for me. We also talk a little about emotions, it is a big responsibility to return the trust of the people who hired me. I have no doubt that through all these four years we will be even more motivated and that we will have the strength to raise the level of Montenegrin volleyball, specifically women's," Caković said at the presentation.

Caković is the seventh head coach of the Montenegrin volleyball team since independence.

"Where does the motive come from? I have the motive because I recognized people with great enthusiasm, especially President Kažić. There are few such people today. I hope that we will look forward to developments, successes and I will ask you for great patience. I hope that we will help children to be human and I believe that we will have good cooperation with players who are willing to play for the first national team good understanding and communication", said Caković.

And Ivica Jevtić is a returner to Montenegrin volleyball, since during his playing career he was a representative of Montenegro and a member of Budućnost. Jevtić was in the professional staff of Igor Kolaković in the senior national team of Serbia (2022-2024), and he was also the selector of the U22 men's volleyball team of Serbia.

"Thank you to the president for the trust and to all the people in the Board of Directors who decided to be a selector. From the very beginning, when Nikola Kažić invited me, I was already excited, knowing that as a player I gained affirmation in Montenegro, in Budućnost. Now I have been given the opportunity to find a place in the volleyball world as a selector and for us to grow together. The privilege is great. I hope to live up to the expectations of all volleyball fans, the entire sports public," said Jevtić.

Jevtić succeeded Ivan Joksimović on the bench.

"The previous coach already started rejuvenating the national team, that trend will continue. The primary goal of the national team's work will be the affirmation of the young guys and to do the second part of the qualification for the European Championship as well as possible. There is still some chance that we will qualify. They are small, but we will not give up. It will definitely be a success if we affirm the young guys," said the new coach.

The president of OSCG, Nikola Kažić, expressed his satisfaction that the new selectors are the only coaches who were candidates for positions.

"I want us to have the best possible cooperation, I will be at your service, and I hope you will be at our service as well." To create the best possible working conditions. I thank the previous selectors for their correct cooperation and wish them all the best. When we, as the Board of Directors, made the decision to start looking for selectors, we analyzed what we needed, based on the composition of our selections, which are young but promising. We were looking for coaches with a winning mentality and I am indescribably satisfied and happy," Kažić said.

The president of OSCG said that the goal will be to follow the development of Montenegrin volleyball in depth.

"These are the only two people we talked to, they were our only wishes. We managed to bring them to Montenegro, to bring what we only wanted and of course we are happy about that. I will not waste words. These are the coaches who have won numerous trophies at the club and representative level. They were in the professional staffs and are very well known. Our goal will be to follow the development of Montenegrin volleyball in depth. We will develop and join in the following years the work of senior selections", said Kažić.

The new selectors will have their first actions in mid-May next year, when the European League is scheduled. And in August, the qualifications for the European Championship continue - the volleyball players suffered two defeats the previous summer, against the Czech Republic (3:1) and Norway (3:0), while after five sets they lost against Latvia (3:2).
