Luča table tennis players finished the first competitive day of the sixth international tournament for people with disabilities, Podgorica Open, with seven medals - one gold and one silver and five bronze.
Samra Kojić won the gold medal, Dejan Bašanović won the silver, while Milijana Ćirković, Pjetro Paljušević, Slobodan Mihailović, Miljan Cerović and Miloš Mudreša received bronze medals.
In the combined categories 3-5 (persons in wheelchairs), after three rounds and playing according to the one-on-one system, Kojić won in front of last year's winner, Danijela Lučanin from Serbia.
Bronze medalists Kristina Grbović and Danijela Crnoglavac also come from Serbia.
Bašanović won silver in the S10 category, and in the final match he was defeated by Paun Vatov from Bulgaria. The bronze winners were Sabahudin Čehajić and Miloš Mudreša from Cetinje.
Ćirković won the bronze medal in the combined categories 6-10, behind Snježana Ivčević from Croatia and Jordanka Todorova from Bulgaria. Croatian Josipa Debanić also won bronze.
In class 7, bronze Paljušević and Mihailović finished behind Danijel Šetrajčić from Croatia and Edib Šahman from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Cerović won the bronze medal in class eight, in which the best was Jordan Mitev from Bulgaria. In the final, he defeated Srđan Šćekić from Serbia.
Milorad Jovanović from Serbia also won a bronze medal.
Bojan Stamenković from Serbia triumphed in combined classes 2-5, ahead of his teammates from the national team Goran Perlić, Andrej Radulović and Vladan Petković.
In class 6, Haris Eminović from Bosnia and Herzegovina won the final against Hamed Podbićanin.
The bronze winners were Igorčo Postolov from North Macedonia and Emir Muminović from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The gold medal in class 9 went to Milovan Janićijević from Serbia, after he defeated Croatian Dražen Gerl in the final.
Tomislav Blažević from Croatia and Dario Stošić from Serbia had to settle for bronze medals.
The tournament continues on Friday with the doubles competition.
The competition in the Verde sports hall gathered more than 60 table tennis players from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
The organizer of the tournament is the Luča Table Tennis Club for people with disabilities, and it is played under the auspices of the Capital City and with the support of the Paralympic Committee, the Table Tennis Association and the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
