Montenegrin table tennis players finished their performance at the traditional New Year's Gewo tournament in Novi Sad with six medals - one gold and one bronze and four silver.
Jakša Krivokapić, a junior from Herzegovinian club Novi, won the gold medal, defeating Uroš Ninković from STAK Kocić from Belgrade in the final.
In the semi-finals, after a great fight and five sets, Krivokapić defeated his colleague from the Montenegrin national team Stefan Radonjić.
Radonjić, who had a lead of 2:1 in the sets, won the bronze medal.
Radonjić and Krivokapić won second place in the team competition, after being defeated by Kocić Academy 2:1 in the final.
Buda member Anastasija Vujović together with Teodora Horvat from TSC Bačka Topola also won the team silver medal.
The Red Star team was better than them in the final (2:1).
Vujović and Lara Franeta from Ulcinj Valdanos reached the quarterfinals of the individual competition.
Vujovic lost her medal by defeating Horvat, and Franeta was defeated by Varga from Čoka.
"At the big international New Year's tournament in Novi Sad, seven Montenegrin clubs had 21 representatives from the youngest cadets to juniors in both competitions," announced the Table Tennis Association of Montenegro.
