Our representatives at the World Youth Chess Championship, which is being held in Petrovac, played well in the penultimate, 10th round.
Đorđe Žižić particularly stood out, defeating China's Yang Siyuan with the black pieces. Žižić took advantage of his opponent's mistake in the opening, went on the attack, and with precise play won the quality. He routinely realized the advantage he gained, so after ten rounds he is the most successful representative of Montenegro with a half-performance of 5 points. Žižić overtook Pek Đurović, who was defeated in today's round by Luka Kiladze, a representative of Georgia.
The victories were achieved by Dimitrije Vujović and Mihailo Pušara, who defeated Paul David Peglau from Germany and Jamie Comley from Ireland. Đorđe Anđelić defeated Said Alieliji Amer from the United Arab Emirates, and after ten rounds, like Vujović and Pušara, he has four points to his name.
Andrej Račić also has four points, having defeated Ilija Milović in the Montenegrin derby. Luka Jovanović defeated Stefan Mihajlović, while Danilo Đenđinović was better than Luka Novaković, and David Pavlović took advantage of the opening move against Nikola Vukašinović. The duel between Vasilije Radulović and Damjan Pešić ended in a draw, while Yegor Ševtsov also drew.
The leading Indian grandmaster, Pranav, retained the lead after a draw with the representative of Russia, Alexei Grebnev. In the last round, Pranav expects a duel with Matica Lavrenčić from Slovenia, who defeated Mediz Galvina from Mexico and is in second place, half a point behind. Their duel in the last round will decide the winner, and a draw will be enough for Pranav.
Our ladies had a bad day, and suffered defeats in the tenth round. At the top of the table, the representative of Russia, Anna Shukhman, is alone, having defeated Elizaveta Khrebeshnikova from Ukraine. Shukhman has half a point more than Ayan Allahverdieva from Azerbaijan and Nurman Alua from Kazakhstan, so she will have her fate in her own hands.
The competition was visited today by students of the “Mirko Srzentić” Elementary School, who also had a chess lesson with Vuk Miletić, a former youth champion of Montenegro. The visit was realized as part of the cooperation between the Chess Federation of Montenegro and the Petrovac Local Community, which supported the organization of this prestigious competition. The tournament was also visited by Nađa Laković, a member of the Parliament of Montenegro.

The final round begins at 13:21 PM, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for XNUMX:XNUMX PM, when the curtain will be lowered on the World Youth Championship, the first competition on the FIDE World Chess Federation calendar ever held in Montenegro.
