The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, sent a congratulatory message to the athletes on the occasion of National Team Day, which is celebrated today.
Simonovic said:
"The national team is not just a group of individuals competing on behalf of the state; it is a symbol of unity, strength, perseverance and immense love for the homeland. It is the heart of a country's sport and a mirror of the character of a people, its fighting spirit, perseverance and strength. On National Team Day, we pay tribute to those who represent our homeland on sports fields around the world - our athletes," said Simonović and added:
"Being a member of the Montenegrin national team is the greatest honor and privilege. It means wearing the coat of arms and colors of our country with pride, being aware of the responsibility that every performance carries, and fighting with all your heart for every point, every goal, every rebound, every second. On and off the field, representing the values that adorn our people: courage, respect, and dignity."
"Behind every medal, behind every victory and every defeat endured with dignity, there are years of dedicated work, countless training sessions, sacrifices and challenges. Our athletes often go through periods in which fatigue, injuries and uncertainty are part of everyday life, but they are driven by their passion for sport and love for their homeland. That is why our task is to support them, to provide them with the best possible conditions for work and development, to be with them both when they win and when they lose."
"I wish all our athletes a happy National Team Day. May you be guided by the same passion that led you to the national team jersey, may every performance be a motivation for you to give your best and always know that the whole of Montenegro stands behind you - proud, grateful and full of support. Thank you for making us proud," Simonović concluded.
