Montenegrin swimmer Iskra Dedivanović advanced to the final of the 100-meter backstroke at a sanctioned World Series meeting in Linjan and improved her personal best by eight seconds.

She finished the finals in fifth place in her S9 class, while she was seventh in the junior competition.

She achieved her career best result in the qualifying round - one minute, 31 seconds and 47 hundredths. Her previous personal best was one minute, 39 seconds and 72 hundredths.

"That fantastic performance brought her seventh place in the junior competition and fifth place in her S9 class, as well as a place in the junior final. In the final race, she confirmed her great result again, swimming 1:31.49, for seventh place in the junior competition," said her coach Danijela Bulatović.

She emphasized that Dedivanović exceeded all expectations.

"Breaking a personal record by more than eight seconds in one race is a huge achievement, and repeating that result in the final is even greater. This shows her exceptional physical and mental fitness. With every performance, she confirms that she belongs at the top of paraswimming," said Bulatović.

On Thursday, Dedivanović improved her personal record in the 11-meter freestyle by almost 100 seconds, while yesterday she swam three seconds and 100 hundredths faster than before in the 71-meter breaststroke.

Tomorrow she will compete in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly races.
