The Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation, Ivan Bošković, will serve as the head of mission for the summer editions of the Games on the Olympic calendar, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee announced.
It is stated that Bošković's experience and dedication to athletes will be key to successfully representing Montenegro on the international stage.
Bošković is a former volleyball player for Buducnost and a member of the Montenegrin national team, and has served as the Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation since 2013.
He has so far served as Head of Mission at the 2015 Mediterranean Beach Games in Pescara, the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, and the 2019 Games of the Small States of Europe in Budva.
He will also head the Montenegrin delegation at this year's Games of the Small Countries of Europe in Andorra.
As part of preparations for that competition, Bošković attended a seminar of heads of mission in Andorra, which brought together representatives of the national Olympic committees of the participating countries.
At the technical committee meeting, which was held during the seminar, it was decided to cancel the shot put competitions for male athletes, judo for female competitors up to and over 78 kilograms, and karate, in the female competition, over 68 kilograms, due to an insufficient number of registered participants.
During the seminar, delegates had the opportunity to tour the sports venues, accommodation facilities and learn about the infrastructure that will be available to athletes.
They also discussed key segments, such as the accreditation system, transportation, medical support and other important operational details necessary for the successful participation of the Montenegrin delegation at the Games.
