Montenegrin table tennis players Filip Radović and Luka Bakić will begin their Paralympic table tennis season tomorrow by competing at an international tournament in Władysławowo, Poland, the Paralympic Committee announced.
In the S10 category, in which Radović and Bakić will compete, almost all the best table tennis players from the World Rankings have registered.
Frenchman Mateo Bohas, Spaniard Jose Manuel Ruiz Reyes, Poles Igor Mištal, Pawel Wlodyka and Dominik Bartosik, Japanese Mahiro Funayama and Brazilian Gabriel Antúñez De Oliveira will compete for medals.
Coach Vladimir Marić said that the Montenegrin table tennis players are starting the Paralympic season and the fight for points for the World Para Table Tennis Rankings with the tournament in Vladislavovo.
He reminded that the World Table Tennis Federation has divided tournaments into three categories starting this season.
"The tournament in Vladislavovo is in the challenger category or second in strength. Since the Serbian League, in which Radović and Bakić play, is in its final phase, the guys are in good shape and ready to give their maximum, so that we return from Poland with good results," Marić told the MINA agency.
He expects a quality tournament, stating that almost all the best from the S10 category have gathered in Vladislavovo.
"After the tournament in Vladislavovo, we are looking forward to traditional competitions in Podgorica and Laško, where we have had a lot of success in previous years," said Marić.
Radović and Bakić's performance in Vladisalavovo is financed by the Paralympic Committee's 2025 program, which was supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro.
