Montenegrin sailor Milivoj Dukić finished in 12th place at the first Grand Slam of the season - the 54th Princess Sofia Trophy regatta in Mallorca.
Dukić, in a competition of 174 sailors, was left without a chance to fight for a medal in the last regatta, missing only one point.
Milivoj sailed at a high level during the competition - after the first qualifying day he was 19th, and entered the final group 20th in the overall standings.
On the first final day, he was sixth, on the second day, tenth, and on the eve of the last regatta, he was in ninth place.
"However, after an extremely close final in which nuances were decisive, he finished 12th overall," his club, Delfin from Tivat, announced.
Another Montenegrin sailor, Ilija Marković, was one point away from placing in the gold group.
He continued the competition in the silver and took a solid 77th place.
The next regatta in the Sailing Grand Slam series awaits them in April in Hier and represents the second of a total of five in the series.
