From October 17 to 20, 2025, the "Sports Games of Municipalities of Montenegro" will be held at the Igalo Sports Center in Herceg Novi.
This is a competition designed as an opportunity for public sector employees to strengthen their relationships through sports, raise their level of physical activity, and contribute to unity within local government.
The project is being implemented by the Montenegrin Association of Company Sports, in cooperation with the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Igalo Sports Center.
"Herceg Novi is truly proud to be able to host a sports meeting of representatives of all Montenegrin municipalities. As a local government, we strive to strengthen ties with other Montenegrin cities, on various grounds, and now we can do this in the sphere of sports. Such an event will be an excellent opportunity for socializing, promoting the potential of Herceg Novi, but also creating the basis for further cooperation. Highly appreciating togetherness as an additional strength for the development of cities, participation in projects, exchange of ideas and experiences, we give full support to an event like this," emphasized the Mayor of Herceg Novi, Stevan Katić.
The "Municipal Sports Games" will bring together around 250 participants from all Montenegrin municipalities, who will compete in mini-football, 3x3 basketball, padel, chess, tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball, archery, darts and tug-of-war.
All participants will be provided with accommodation for four days, specially designed sports equipment in the colors of the municipalities, as well as a rich entertainment program, including opening and closing ceremonies.
"Herceg Novi, or rather the Igalo Sports Center, will host this unique sporting event, which will be organized in this format for the first time in Montenegro, with the aim of making the event traditional and recognizable in our country and in the region. The Igalo Sports Center is a unique temple of sports, in which we organize various competitions every year, both local and international, under our own direction. This time, we have taken a step further and entered into a challenging but very important project for all of us in cooperation with the local government of the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Montenegrin Association of Company Sports. We believe that connecting municipalities through sports and socializing is the best model for promoting cities, strengthening ties, sharing ideas, visions and an indispensable base for entertainment. We invite all citizens and sports fans to come to the Igalo Sports Center and join us in accompanying and supporting these unique games, which promote sports, friendship and togetherness!", announced the director of the Igalo Sports Center, Radovan Ralević.
