By installing a tekkol table at the Secondary Vocational School in Berane, the "Tekkol in Schools" project has successfully continued, through which all secondary schools in northern Montenegro will be provided with the necessary equipment.
This is a project co-financed by the Ministry of Sports and Youth through the program "Sport for All - All for Sport", and additional support was provided by the Government of Montenegro through the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.
"I am pleased that the Ministry of Sports and Youth is part of the Tekbol in Schools project. The Ministry will always support initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and contribute to the development of not only Tekbol, but sport as a whole," said Zoran Jojić, Director of the Directorate for Sports at the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
It was in Berane that the 100th tekbol table in Montenegro was set up - an important anniversary in the development of tekbol sport in Montenegro.
"In cooperation with partners in the public and private sectors, we can proudly say that as a smaller association, in just three years of work, we managed to secure and install 100 tekbol tables, worth a total of 250 thousand euros, which created the conditions for the development of tekbol sports, but also made a concrete contribution to strengthening sports infrastructure and expanding sports offerings in Montenegro. I am especially pleased that we can say that every city in Montenegro has tekbol equipment, and through projects such as "Tekbol in Schools", we clearly demonstrate our focus on working with young people. The program of the Tekbol Association envisages that every educational institution in the country be equipped with tekbol tables, and I sincerely hope that the state's support in the implementation of the program will not be lacking," said the President of the Tekbol Association of Montenegro, Milorad Šutulović.
In addition to the "Tekball in Schools" project, the new season of the Montenegrin League begins next week - the first tournament in 2025 will be held on April 26 at the Igalo Sports Center, where the best Montenegrin tekball players will fight for the first points of the season.
