Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen said he is focused on helping Red Bull improve its car and does not know why team advisor Helmut Marko expressed great concern that he could leave the team.
Marko said he was concerned that Verstappen could leave Red Bull if the team did not progress.
Max's contract with Red Bull expires at the end of 2028.
"I just keep working, trying to improve the car. I think we're all pretty disappointed. We're trying to improve, to try some ideas. There's a lot of competition - that's how my Sundays go, I'm trying to improve the situation," Verstappen said.
When asked why Marko made such statements, Verstappen replied:
"Concentrate on the commentary, I'll concentrate on the driving and then we don't have to think about any other scenarios."
There has long been speculation that Mercedes and Aston Martin are interested in Verstappen.
"A lot of people are talking about it, except me. I just want to focus on the car, to work with the people in the team. That's the only thing I'm thinking about in Formula 1 at the moment. I'm very relaxed," Verstappen added.
The Formula 1 championship continues this weekend in Saudi Arabia, with the race scheduled for Sunday at 19 p.m. in Jeddah.
