Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was fastest in qualifying for the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The four-time consecutive world champion drove well in the last two laps, and reached pole position in the final moments.
He set a course record of 1:27,294 minutes.
McLaren driver Oscar Piastre was second, 0,010 seconds behind, and Mercedes driver George Russell will start in third place...
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took fourth position, Ferrari's Kimi Antonelli was fifth, and Carlos Sainz (Williams) was sixth.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari was seventh, Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda eighth and Alpine's Pierre Gasly ninth. Championship leader McLaren's Lando Norris will start from 10th place after failing to score in the third qualifying session after hitting the wall at the start.
Because of this, the third part of qualifying was interrupted for several minutes, until the McLaren car, which had a damaged front left and rear left tire, was removed.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix race takes place on Sunday at 19 p.m. in Jeddah.
