The work of the Montenegrin Chess Federation has received another recognition, and Budva will host the European Youth Chess Championship from October 28 to November 8.

It is expected that over 900 young chess players from all over Europe will participate in the championship, and the organization of this prestigious competition represents yet another proof of the European Chess Union's confidence in the organizational capacities of the Chess Federation of Montenegro.

The agreement defining the details of the organization was signed by the President of the Chess Federation of Montenegro (ŠSCG), Jovan Milović, and the President of the European Chess Union, Zurab Azmajparašvili, during the Board meeting of the European Chess Union (ECU). Veselin Drašković, Honorary Vice President of the ECU and Vice President of the ŠSCG, was also present at the signing of the agreement.

To support young talents, the Chess Federation of Montenegro will provide free accommodation for the top five players in each category from the Montenegrin Youth Championship, which will be held in June. The Chess Federation will thus support the participation of 60 of our players, who will have the opportunity to compete with their peers from Europe.

The signing of the contract for the organization of the European Youth Championship is great news ahead of the league competitions scheduled for May 1st in Herceg Novi. The city under the Orjen River will host 450 registered competitors and the following leagues will be played simultaneously: Premier, First, Second, Women's and Pioneer Leagues.
