The younger brother of one of the greatest ever, Marc Marquez, taught everyone lessons on the track in Jerez - even though he skidded and lost positions at the start, he managed to overtake all his rivals one after the other.
He showed Francesco Banjaja on the factory Ducati what a talent he was, and in the first corner of lap 11 he overtook Fabio Quartararo on the Yamaha, who had pole position.
The order is: Alex, Quartararo - first podium since Indonesia in 2023, Banjaja, after Marc Marquez went off the track on the factory Ducati in the eighth corner of the third lap, returned to the track and managed to finish in 23th place from 12rd.
From the start, Mark had problems entering left turns, and was overtaken by his clubmate Banjaja before he was eliminated.
Only the Marquez brothers are the first in Moto GP history to win a grand prix.
