The chess players of Buducnost started the new season in the Montenegrin Premier League with a victory against the Crnogorec team.
They won the derby 3,5:2,5, and the decisive point, after six hours of fighting, was brought by Aleksandar Predke against Miloš Perunović.
The other five duels in this match ended in draws, after a great fight and fair play.
The victory was also achieved by the Elektroprivreda team, which is defending its title from last year. The Nikšić team was led by grandmasters Nikita Petrov and Mihail Brjakin until their victory against Herceg Novi.
Miloš Vlatković brought three points to Mimoza with a victory over Stefan Mandić in the duel with Dama from Budva, and the other five games ended in draws.
Rumija took the first step towards survival by narrowly defeating the Prosvjeta team, thanks to victories by Aleksandra Žerebcova, Rodoljub Pikula and Nikola Vraneš, while the Omladinac Buducnost team unexpectedly defeated the Nikšić team, with a score of 5,5-0,5.
In the women's league, Elektroprivreda and Herceg Novi defeated the teams of University and Budućnost to the maximum.
In the first league, Zora defeated Mornar from Bar 5:1, while Mladost recorded a victory against Gambit with the same result.
Diagonale defeated Rudar 4,5:1,5, while Zeta barely triumphed against the team from Berane. The team from Cetinje was free.
The Pioneer League has also begun, and the favorites lived up to expectations in the first round.
The competitions continue tomorrow when the pioneers will play three rounds, while the other leagues play second round games.
The Chess Federation league competitions brought together more than 400 chess players in Herceg Novi.
At the opening, the attendees were greeted by the president of the Chess Federation, Jovan Milović, and Mitar Kisjelica, a representative of the host city.
The tournament was officially opened by the Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović, who also made the first move in the duel between Aleksandar Predke and Miloš Perunović in the Premier League derby between Buducnost and Crnogorac.
