Montenegrin sailor Ilija Marković came in 34th, while Milivoj Dukić finished in 58th place at the World Championships in Qingdao, China.
The best placing among sailors from the region was achieved by Filip Jurišić from Croatia, who took 11th place.
The championship was marked by a lack of wind, so the sailors did not sail on the first three competition days, while on the fourth day, fog and poor visibility did not allow the championship to officially begin.
On the penultimate day, on the verge of regularity, in terms of wind strength and visibility, the organizers managed to hold two regattas, the second of which was interrupted when the sailors crossed half of the regatta field.
Three regattas were sailed on the last day - Marković took two sixths and one tenth, which was enough to ultimately take 34th place.
Dukić was 24th, 26th and 11th, and ultimately finished the World Championship in 58th place.
William Wiersema from the Netherlands won the gold medal, Pavlos Kontides, a Cypriot who is a member of the Mornar Sailing Club from Split, won the silver medal, while Zach Littlewood from Australia took third place and the bronze medal.
