Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen won today's 13th stage of the Giro d'Italia, while Mexican Isaac del Toro retained the lead in the general classification.
The Lidl-Trek cyclist won the 180-kilometer stage from Rovigo to Vicenza, with a time of three hours, 50 minutes and 24 seconds.
He won in a brilliant sprint finish ahead of Belgian Wout Van Aert from the Visma team.
Third was Emirates member and overall leader Isaac del Toro, two seconds behind.
In the overall standings, Del Toro is first with 46 hours, 32 minutes and 59 seconds, which is 38 seconds ahead of his teammate, Spaniard Juan Ayuso.
Third is Italian Antonio Tiberi from Team Bahrain, one minute and 18 seconds behind.
Simon Yates from Visma is fourth, one minute and 20 seconds behind, Primož Roglič from Red Bull Bora is fifth, one minute and 35 seconds behind...
Roglič was the favorite before the start of the Giro, but he's been quite reserved for now, and he's had some bad luck - a crash on the gravel road near Siena, a flat tire... That's why he's so far behind, but the real hilly, mountain stages are still to come. Are they a chance for the Slovenian?
The next 14th stage on the program is on Friday from Treviso to Nova Gorica, 195 kilometers long.
