Šavnik, the smallest Montenegrin municipality, welcomed the participants of the Montenegrin Team Championship in accelerated and rapid chess in a great way.
The successful cooperation between the Chess Federation of Montenegro and the Municipality of Šavnik guarantees the writing of even more beautiful pages of chess history in the beautiful Šavnik region, the ŠSCG announced.
The chess players of Elektroprivreda Nikšić continued their sovereign dominance on the domestic club scene by winning two victory cups in Šavnik. The team consisting of: Denis Kadrić, Nikita Petrov and Vuk Miletić, with the help of Oleg Jaksin in the fast-paced competition and Jovana Milović in the “cuger” achieved all victories and one draw in both competitions and crossed the finish line first.
After the double crown last year, Buducnost had to settle for two silver medals, despite the fact that they achieved 17 wins, one draw and only one loss in the final score. The following players played for Buducnost: Nikola Đukić, Dragiša Blagojević, Blažo Kalezić, Andrej Šuković and Miloš Pečurica. In the rapid, Elektroprivreda achieved eight wins and a draw in a duel with the Mimoza team, while Buducnost suffered its only defeat against Elektroprivreda. Third place was won by the free team of SFRY (Peko Đurović, Aleksandar Tomić, Igor Sarić and Jovan Milović), but the bronze medals, in accordance with the regulations, went to the fourth-placed Mimoza from Tivat (Miloš Stanković, Miloš Vlatković, Dragan Popadić and Milorad Ratković), while SFRY was the best in the category of other teams, in which second place went to Lovac from Šavnik.
The best unrewarded Premier League team was Herceg Novi, while Zeta was the best First League team.
In rapid chess, an additional criterion, namely the number of points, was decisive, since Elektroprivreda and Buducnost achieved all the victories, and their duel between them ended in a draw, so thanks to the 1,5 point advantage, the team from Nikšić came to the winning cup. The team from Berane (Milonja Andjić, Vjekoslav Vulević, Vladan Andjić and Huso Dedeić) pleasantly surprised by winning third place. Nikšić was the best Premier League team, the first league award went to the team from Mladost, while the teams from Lovac-Šavnik and Buducnost Kruševice won awards in the category of free teams.
The calendar of the Chess Federation of Montenegro will continue with the 30th Montenegrin Youth Championship, which will be held in Cetinje from June 14th to 19th.
