Pole position, sprint triumph and then in the Moto GP Grand Prix of Aragon - Marc Marquez rounded off a great racing weekend.
Behind the icon of motorcycling on the Ducati, his younger brother Alex Marquez placed on the Gresini Ducati, and the last step on the podium was earned by another factory Ducati rider, Italian Francesco Bagnaia.
The race was incredibly fast in extremely hot temperatures, and only KTM managed to keep up with Ducati's pace. Pedro Acosta had to settle for fourth place and several spectacular position changes and overtakings with Banjaja until the middle of the third lap, while the other KTM rider, Brad Binder, managed to keep up the pace until the 12th of the 23 laps. He then crashed off the track.
The eight-time world champion just scored his fourth victory of the season at the "Motorland" track and repeated a decade-old success, when he finished all training, qualifying and the race in first place.
He is the leader in the standings with 233 points, 32 more than his younger brother, while Banjaja is third with 140.
The next race of the Moto GP championship is the Italian Grand Prix, in Mugello from June 20th to 22nd.
