Lazar Žižić and Nikola Đurković from Nikšić are the winners of the second Montenegrin Teqball League tournament of the 2025 season, held on La Bamba beach in Igalo. With no previous ranking points, Žižić and Đurković went through an extremely demanding draw and defeated the favorites one by one.
In the round of 12, they eliminated the home pair, brothers Svetozar and Petar Gardašević (10:12, 10:12), then in the quarterfinals they were better than Veljko Ljumović and Matija Bojović (10:9, 12:16, 14:XNUMX).
In the semifinals, they defeated Vas Pejović and Nikola Popović (9:12, 12:10, 12:4), while in the exciting final, after a turnaround, they triumphed against Samir Fetić and Dino Hasanović (11:12, 12:5, 12:8).
"It's always nice to come to the Teqball tournament - great atmosphere, great company. We are very pleased with the result and hope that we will have the opportunity to defend our title at the tournament in Žabljak" - said Lazar Žižić after winning the cup in the doubles competition.
In the individual competition, Marko Žarković's dominance continued. In the semifinals, he was better than Matija Bojović (12:5, 11:12, 12:5), while in the final he defeated Veljko Ljumović (12:7, 12:10). And
However, Teqball club Budućnost is concerned about Andrija Jovanović's injury, suffered in the singles semifinals, which prevented the best Teqball pair from competing in doubles.
"First of all, I wish my teammate, Andrija, a speedy recovery. Unfortunately, we were unable to go out on the court and defend our doubles title. On the other hand, I am pleased that I continued my streak and won another trophy in singles," said Žarković.
The tournament also featured a mixed doubles competition, and the title was won by Nikola Popović and Jovana Sarić, who defeated Andreja Janjušević and Vas Pejović in the final (12:8, 12:9).
The Teqball Association of Montenegro expresses its satisfaction with the first part of the season and announces a rich summer calendar.
"Herceg Novi is an extremely important city for us - this is the fourth tournament we have organized here in just over a year, which speaks volumes about the support we have from the local government. The tournament in Igalo, as well as the one held at the beginning of the month in Ohrid, marks the beginning of the summer season of outdoor competitions. In July and August, tournaments await us in Žabljak, Bar and Sarajevo," announced the president of the Teqball Association, Milorad Šutulović.
The Association has specifically highlighted the Adriatic Teqball League tournament in Bar, on July 19th, which will feature the best players in the world, including the current world champion, Apor Gyorgydeak.
