Dutch cyclist Timen Arensman won today's 14th stage of the Tour d'France, while Slovenian Tadej Pogačar from the Emirates team retained the lead in the overall standings.

Arensman, a driver for the INEOS team, completed the 182,6-kilometer mountain section, which ran from Pau-Luchon to Superbanjer, in four hours, 53 minutes and 35 seconds.

Pogačar took second place, one minute and eight seconds behind, while Visma team rider, Dane Jonas Vingegor, was third, one minute and 12 seconds behind.

The stage was marked by the withdrawal of Belgian Remko Evenepul from the fight for victory in the most prestigious race.

100 kilometers from the finish line of stage 14 during the climb of the Tourmalet, Evenepool dropped out of the peloton, waited for an escort car and finished the race.

After the 13th stage, Evenepul was third in the overall standings and wore the leader's white jersey.

The Pyrenees mountain ranges meant the end for the young Soudal Quick-Step rider.

He initially had team riders around him, but then he dropped out and was seen getting into the team car. After that dropout, Florijan Lipovic (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) took the lead in the competition for the best young rider - the white jersey and worked his way up to third place overall.

Pogačar leads the overall standings with a time of 50 hours, 40 minutes and 28 seconds, ahead of Viingegora, who is four minutes and 13 seconds behind. Third is Red Bull rider Florijan Lipovic of Germany, seven minutes and 53 seconds behind.

The next stage, a semi-mountainous section measuring 169,3 kilometers, will be driven tomorrow from Mire to Carcassonne.
