The popular cycling race Giro d'Italia will start in Bulgaria in the 2028 season.
This was announced by Urbano Kairo, president of the race's organizing committee.
"We started in Albania in May, and next year we will start in Bulgaria. These initiatives have a positive impact, and they are appreciated not only by the countries we visit, but also by Italians who get to know new territories. We are increasing Italian exports, which is the goal of our country. The Giro d'Italia is an ambassador of sport around the world, and hosting stages of the race in other countries opens up great opportunities," said Kairo.
