The Chess Federation of Montenegro continues to organize major international competitions. Budva will host the European Championship for Young Chess Players from Tuesday, October 28 to November 8, the Federation announced.
This year's edition of the most massive competition on the European Chess Union calendar will bring together 1.180 players from 49 European federations.
80 players from Montenegro will also participate, which is a record number. The Chess Federation of Montenegro, as stated, has provided free accommodation for the five first-place winners from each group of the 30th Montenegrin Youth Championship, and additionally a large number of young chess players have decided to participate in this competition and try their hand at it with their peers from all over Europe.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday at 17 p.m. at the Rondo pool, while the first round matches are scheduled for 14 p.m. on Tuesday.
The sponsors of the championship are the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Municipality of Budva, while the partners are the Budva Riviera, which will host all participants and their companions and coaches, as well as the Ministry of Tourism and the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System CEDIS.
