McLaren driver Oscar Piastre triumphed in the sprint race held as part of the Qatar Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the Formula 1 championship.
The Australian was the best sprinter on the Lusail track for the third year in a row, and this is his first triumph in the championship since the end of August and the weekend in the Netherlands.
The closest to Piastre was George Russell in Mercedes, ahead of the overall leader Lando Norris.
Defending champion Max Verstappen was fourth.
After the sprint in Qatar, Norris has 22 points more than Piastre, and 25 more than the Dutchman.
Qualifying starts at 19pm, and the Qatar GP race is on Sunday at 17pm.
